Senator Blackburn Fights to Protect Children Online

All parents face challenges when raising their children. No matter the generation or era, moms and dad deal with the same struggles and stages of child-rearing, whether the terrible twos or the tumultuous teenage years.
However, modernity has posed unique problems for parents, such as the influence of social media. Children are increasingly exposed to leftwing indoctrination both in school and on the internet.
With students locked of schools during the pandemic, thanks to teachers’ union lobbying, parents gained access to what their kids were being taught. They saw gender ideology and critical race theory infiltrating their kids’ virtual classrooms. And as families spent more time at home, parents witnessed the ideological predation of their kids online.
A mother and children’s advocate, Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn recently released a Parents’ Guide to Acing Back to School 2022 to inform parents on how to protect their most precious possessions from today’s cultural threats.
“The back to school season is here, and the parents I talk to are anxious about the new challenges their children will face,” she told The Conservateur. “My parents’ guide will empower moms and dads with resources they need to keep their kids safe from dangerous drugs, online predators, and woke curriculum.”
Her parents’ guide cites data from Sheriffs in Tennessee, warning parents that 80 percent of the drugs law enforcement confiscates contains fentanyl, a deadly illegal narcotic that can kill a person with the tiniest dose. Children and adolescents are often targets of drug dealing on apps like Snapchat. For example, sometimes gummy bears laced with drugs are sold on the platform. Parents must be cognizant of the people and ideas their children are interacting with online.
In her guide, the Tennessee senator warns that criminals will attempt to target children on social media apps by posing as kids and building an emotional connection with their victims. It is important for parents to monitor their kids online activities and impose strict privacy settings. They must check the apps regularly for inappropriate content in posts and direct messages.
Blackburn also warns parents about politically motivated teachers and schools, saying, “with the teachers’ unions emboldened by the Biden administration, it is now more important than ever for parents to have the resources they need to advocate for their little ones.” Schools nationwide now filled with BLM and Pride flags. Children are being taught that America is inherently evil and racist and that gender is a social construct. Blackburn’s guide notes that teachers’ unions have increasingly pushed to get more kids involved in transgender-themed after-school clubs.
The most crucial thing parents can do to raise strong, decent, and moral Americans is to be involved in their children’s lives. Ask questions. Get to know their friends and their friends’ parents. Have dinner together and keep the TV off and the phones in a different room. Engage with your children and create an environment of trust and respect. Instill in them the immutable truths and conservative values. Remind them that despite her faults, America is the freest, most prosperous country in the history of the world where we are blessed to live. And when given the choice between scrolling Instagram or spending time with your kids, always choose the latter.
