TC’s Fall Cocktails Guide

By Anabella

With the weather cooling down and the holidays approaching, we TC Girls have been waiting for the opportunity to break out the spiked apple cider and get the fall season into full swing. Whether you’re hosting Friendsgiving, visiting your family, or just catching up with old pals, a few harvest-oriented libations can make the occasion feel extra cozy. Maybe you’re entertaining guests or just snuggling up to the fire with a good book, but these recipes will warm the soul and elevate your cocktail repertoire. Some of these concoctions are a bit more advanced, so make sure to stop by the supermarket to gather some special ingredients beforehand. On a crisp November evening when your cheeks are perfectly flushed, there’s nothing better than some comforting spirits to accompany the autumnal ambiance.

Girl’s Brunch

While brunch might seem most popular in the summer or spring, there’s no reason the fun should have to stop. Bring your brunch into the new season by making these Apple Cider Cinnamon Mimosas. You’ll maintain the best parts of brunch but with a harvest twist reminiscent of a stroll through the apple orchards.

A Cold Day

Floridians, you might want to keep scrolling. There’s no drink that’s better at warming you up on a blustery day than a classic Hot Toddy. Known to be a treatment for the common cold, this drink is more than an at-home remedy. It soothes the senses and serves as an alcoholic pick-me-up if you need an extra boost of energy to power through the day. This recipe only requires the simple staples in your pantry, such as sugar, spices, honey, lemon juice, and of course, bourbon.

Date Night

If you’re looking for a tried and true cocktail that you can whip up to impress a date, look no further than a timeless Manhattan. While this is not necessarily a specialty Fall drink, the Manhattan already has some autumn elements that will match the vibe without seeming too frivolous. It’s the perfect drink to ring in the changing of the seasons with elegance and style.

The Dinner Party

Is there ever a wrong time for sangria? Nope! The beauty of sangria is that it can be modified to fit any season or any event. Try this fall sangria recipe that combines all of the familiar flavors, such as cinnamon and apples.

Less Is More

While involved, innovative cocktails have their place, you can never go wrong with a classic! Easy to make and great for entertaining, the Negroni is the perfect beverage to usher in the season without overdoing it. Subtle, yet sophisticated, this drink will surely be a hit, and it won’t take you more than a few minutes to prepare. We recommend serving this cocktail before dinner.

Full-On Fall

No fall cocktail guide would be complete without a recipe for Mulled Apple Cider. The quintessential autumn grog, hot apple cider will make your entire house smell like the holidays and feel like the set of Gilmore Girls. Nothing is more welcoming than a home where hot apple cider is stewing. Just one sip can melt away the worldly stresses and bring some much needed merriment. Spike it or don’t; this recipe has something for everyone and is great for family gatherings. Just make sure you’ve set aside enough time to make it!
