I love the latest trend of integrating western wear into street style, especially western boots. Bringing cowboy boots to the city? Absolutely. However, this trend can be a little daunting for city girls when it comes to actually implementing western boots into their wardrobe. But, there are many ways to style a western boot to fit any occasion. Below are some different tips to help incorporate cowboy boots into your streetwear closet. This guide will help any girl make her western wear a little less yee-haw, and a little more Yves Saint Laurent.

Make it ankle boots

Cowboy boots in the form of ankle boots are the easiest way to dip your toes into the western trend. These boots bring a little western flair while maintaining a chic profile that goes perfectly with almost anything.

Go over-the-knee

At the opposite extreme, over-the-knee boots are a fashion-forward, daring take on the western boot. This boot really transforms the cowboy boot into a sexy, trendsetting city look.

Pair with blue jeans

If you’re looking for a more traditional take, pairing your boots with a pair of skinny or straight-leg jeans never fails. For less country and more city, pair with dark-wash skinny jeans. For more cowgirl and less Covergirl, couple with light-wash.

Add a pop of color

Add a little funk, fun, and edge to western wear by wearing colorful cowboy boots. For best results, choose something between Johnny Cash and Lil Nas X.

Go snakeskin

Bring in two trends at once by wearing snakeskin western boots, to make it all the more fabulous! You never want snakes in your boots, but a snakeskin boot is a whole different game.

Pair with midi skirt or dress

I love a silk midi skirt or a wrap midi dress with a cowboy boot. The hemline and shaft of the boot pair together like Carrie Underwood and a break-up song.

With a bootcut jean

If you’re looking for a more subtle take on the western boot, pair them with a bootcut jean. The jean will hide the full boot but still expose the pointed toe and heel for a more fun and unique take than your average shoe.

Wear a white boot

Let’s be honest, the best part about watching the Cowboys isn’t the football, but the cheerleaders. Channel your inner Cowboys Cheerleader with some sexy white boots. These boots are perfect for a lighter look paired with white jeans or a sundress.
