The Trump White House had no shortage of fashion icons, from the First Lady to Ivanka Trump, Kayleigh McEnany, and Hope Hicks— the Trump Presidency will go down as the most fashionable in history. Beautiful, intelligent, and impeccably dressed women graced the White House, advising the President on policy and advising America on fashion. While these women each have their unique style and flair, they all shared a common sophistication. Elegant, polished, and classic, yet fashion-forward and cutting edge, these women dutifully served our country while reaching the pinnacle of political style. We are looking to the women of the Trump White House for style inspiration to step up our workwear wardrobe.

Pretty in pink

Women in the Trump White House were no strangers to the color pink. Bringing pink to the world stage, Ivanka proved that pink wasn’t just a cute color, but a powerful political statement. The color pink, from dresses to blouses to pants, is a staple for any conservative girl looking to channel Ivanka’s style.

Sexy yet sophisticated

Avid readers of TC are all too familiar with the Former First Lady’s chic style. The key takeaway from FLOTUS 45’s style is her ability to wear sexy yet sophisticated and tasteful pieces. While modesty is the best policy as First Lady, Melania always knew how to perfectly walk the line. For conservative girls looking to achieve her style, pair shorter dresses with high-necklines and covered shoulders— a perfect combo for achieving a hot, but mature look.

Red is for Republican

As Republican women, red is our go-to super-color for a statement look. Bold, bright, and powerful, red is sure to turn heads from the White House to the board room. Red is a dominant color and works well as a bold centerpiece such as an overcoat, a large belt, or clutch. Every conservative girl needs a red statement piece in their wardrobe.

Blazers are your best friend

While Ivanka and Melania stunned with their dresses, Kayleigh turned heads with her polished yet professional blazers. Between being a new mother and dealing with the liberal media, Kayleigh still managed to look stunning on the podium every day. Kayleigh’s blazers became a signature look for her as she buttoned up her tailored jacket over blouses and dresses throughout her time as Press Secretary. If there’s one thing Ivanka Trump knows it’s accessories. From her hats to her broaches, to her belts, Ivanka stepped up her style by accessorizing accordingly. The key to channeling Ivanka’s style is pairing simple monotone outfits with an accessory that adds a flash of color.

Hope Hicks’ classic blazer and belt combination was her signature look at the Trump White House. The belt draws the traditionally boxy fit of the blazer to a slimming, more feminine silhouette and provides waist definition. It’s sleek, it’s sexy, but it’s still perfectly professional. We all know and love little black dresses, but few give the little blue dress the credit it deserves. Perfect for a more summery look, blue dresses are light, cheery, and pair nicely with simple accessories. The little blue dress became one of Kayleigh’s staples as Press Secretary. We highly recommend adding an LBD to your workwear collection.

Stylish set

Ivanka did sets better than anyone. Sets are stylish, professional but signal fashion know-how and maturity. Once again, a monotone ensemble rarely disappoints! A pencil skirt matched with a blouse or blazer paired with a belt will be the hero of your workwear wardrobe.

Bold in all-black

We all know that all-black is perfect for a night out, but it also means business. An all-black tailored slim silhouette is powerful, sexy, and professional. Black also allows you to mix things up with different textures and silhouettes. FLOTUS 45 and Ivanka were never afraid to shake-up their typically colorful wardrobe with a sleek all-black look.

Classic in camel

Camel has made a comeback over the last couple of years, but no one did it as well as Hope Hicks. Camel is a great alternative to the typical winter shades of grey, black, and navy— we’d argue every girl needs a camel coat in her arsenal. What makes camel is its versatility— it matches perfectly with navy, black, and white and looks super chic with all three.

Overcoats are everything

Overcoats are everything to a fashionista in winter. They’re warm and practical, but they also allow us to take risks as statement pieces. Melania was famous for her many coats in a wide spectrum of colors. She was never afraid to change it up with bright colors, fun textures, and even interesting cuts and silhouettes. Channel FLOTUS 45 by adding a gorgeous overcoat to your winter collection.

Modest in a midi skirt

Professionally, you can’t go wrong with a tea-length skirt. It’s feminine, comfortable, but also serious. Midi skirts are also a great place to introduce some cute and fun patterns to your wardrobe. We love this kind of look for a more casual day in the office paired with a cardigan to beat those chilly office temps and some cute heels.

Striking in stilettos

No one rocked stilettos quite like our former First Lady. It didn’t matter what time of day, or event it was, Melania was never seen without a trusty pair of beautiful Louboutin or Manolo stilettos. While her shoe collection is what dreams are made of, a good pair of stilettos is essential for every working conservative girl.

A dainty cross

Kayleigh was rarely seen without her dainty cross necklace. For any Christian girl, a cross necklace is a perfect way to fashionably display your faith. It’s very subtle, but it’s a great accent to any neckline. We particularly love the thin feminine chain and the versatility of Kayleigh’s necklace.

When in doubt, channel Jackie O

Every First Lady since FLOTUS 36 has tried to channel the first American fashion icon, Jackie Onassis Kennedy. Few have succeeded as well as Melania. However, you don’t have to be the First Lady to look like Jackie O. Sport tailored monotone sets and heels to achieve Jackie O’s classic 50’s style.

The power pantsuit

While Hillary Clinton may have given pantsuits a bad name, Ivanka and other members of the Trump administration made pantsuits great again. Pantsuits are the best way to dress up for the office while projecting workplace power. This is our go-to for events that require we put our best foot forward— think interviews, pitches, and big presentations.

Bows and blouses

Pussy-bow blouses are a TC favorite and no one styled it better than Melania. Blouses are a phenomenal way to dress up comfortable work pants, but look as stylish as hell. Pussy-bow bow blouses are an American classic, and every conservative girl should invest in one. Bows are beautiful on blouses, but are also great on their own! On a casual Friday, nothing screams fashion know-how more than a bow-tied ascot.
