Rodeo Wear Lookbook

By Alexis Guillory

For Texans, cowboy boots and a Stetson hat are closet staples. Now that western wear is popular among celebrities and high-end designers, styles for this year’s rodeo season are more modern and chic than in years past. For those who don’t call the Lone Star State “home” or frequent the rodeo, it’s easy to mix timeless western pieces with capsule clothing.

DENIM

DENIM

Denim is a true neutral when assembling an outfit. Whether it’s a button down shirt, maxi skirt, oversized jacket, or jeans in any form, denim is extremely versatile and can be dressed up or down. Whether you’re going for a high end look, as seen from runway designers like Etro, Hermes, and Fendi, or looking to pick something up from Zara, Mango, or Free People, there are pieces to fit every budget.

BOOTS

BOOTS

Cowboy boots have taken the fashion industry by storm. Celebrities and influencers have been seen sporting street wear styles and elevated versions for a night out. Of course our favorite pair is the striking red, snip toe, leather boots we designed with Dixon as a TC exclusive. Maybe we’re biased, but these boots were made for walking. As a native Texan, I am partial to the Lucchese brand. But if you prefer something that lends itself to more of a subtle western flare, brands like Ganni, Isabel Marant, Khaite, and Jeffrey Campbell certainly have a pair of boots for you.

HATS - BELTS - BAGS

Hats, belts, and bags, oh my! A western-inspired outfit wouldn’t be complete without accessories featuring denim, fringe, studs, or suede detailing. In my opinion if you are going to splurge, invest in accessories. They can bring an outfit together or elevate an otherwise simple look. Most importantly, they withstand the test of time and fluctuating fashion trends. Chanel, Saint Laurent, Dior, and Celine have all participated in the rodeo-ready rage with modern twists on western elements.
